We started with a problem most dog owners know too well: the back seat isn't built for dogs.

One sharp brake and they're sliding into the footwell. A corner, and they're climbing into the front. And every trip to the beach or the park ends with mud on the upholstery, fur in the seams and, now and then, an accident that soaks straight into the seat. Seat covers help with some of the mess, but they don't give your dog anywhere to actually sit.

So we went looking for a better answer and landed on the pod: a walled seat that straps to the headrest and gives your dog their own spot. It fits small hatchbacks as well as SUVs and dual-cab utes, and it leaves the rest of the back seat free for people. For bigger dogs, the Back Seat Deck turns the whole back seat into one flat, covered space.
